Agricultural residues are increasingly becoming valuable resources, no longer just waste to be discarded. Recently, Zhengzhou Jiutian successfully implemented a mustard shell carbonization production project, utilizing its biomass carbonization technology to convert mustard shell biomass into useful biochar. This successful production case demonstrates a practical pathway for transforming agricultural waste into high value carbon products.
Mustard shells are rich in organic carbon, and large quantities of such waste are generated in agricultural and food processing activities. However, untreated shell residues not only occupy storage space but also increase processing difficulties. Carbonization technology offers an alternative: converting biomass into stable, carbon rich materials through thermal treatment, reducing the volume of the original residue while producing products with broader application potential.
At the production site, properly pretreated mustard shells are fed into the carbonization system. The material is gradually heated within the carbonization equipment under controlled, oxygen deficient conditions. As the temperature rises, the material releases volatile components and produces combustible gases. These gases can be recycled within the system, providing some of the necessary heat energy for continuous production, thereby improving the resource utilization rate of the entire process.
This project demonstrates that the application of biomass carbonization technology is not limited to traditional raw materials such as sawdust, rice husks, coconut shells, or palm shells. Different agricultural residues can be evaluated based on their moisture content, particle size, composition, and expected final products. Through practical testing and equipment configuration optimization, Zhengzhou Jiutian continuously assists customers in exploring more efficient ways to transform locally available biomass waste into valuable resources.
